Why Han China Collapsed
Overall, there are many things that lead to the collapse of all empires.
Some, like the Roman empire, collapsed due to being too overextended.
Others, such as the Persian and Mauryan empires collapsed after
being invaded by foreigners. At one point or another, they all had to
end. This is how the impressive empire of Han China collapsed.
The Han China Empire originally began in 2200 B.C.E. as small state.
But by 500 B.C.E., that state was destroyed. Later, rulers in various
states wanted to reunify China. The state of Qin took the first step in
the process. The people, most importantly the ruler, launched a
military campaign and Han China flourished in a mere 10 years. By
206 B.C.E., the Han China Empire was created. During the Han China
Empire, many things we know of today were helped to be evolved.
Literature, religion, and science all evolved during this period of time.
But it did not stay fun and games for a long time. In the last days of
this empire, a number of different plagues spread through the empire.
The people predicted that the end of the dynasty was near; they were
right. The most important cause of the fall of the Han China Empire
was when a powerful warlord name Dong Zhou decided he wanted
complete control of China. He took control of the imperial state in 190
C.E. at first. Later, he killed all the emperor’s administrators and
burned the capital. He continued to fight battle after battle until finally,
the empire perished in 220 C.E.
Though the empire was destroyed under weak circumstances, their
influence on today’s modern world was strong. Religion in China
influenced later religions and philosophies. Literary work influenced
many great works of a later time. Buildings in Han China influenced
later architecture. As you can see, China had a great impact on
today’s world as well.
